Release, April 16th 2003
Legendary
songwriter and producer Mike Stock launches Better The
Devil Records.
Better
The Devil Records sees Mike Stock team up with millionaire
businessman Bob Patmore to launch a new boutique record
label with a clear and simple mission - to provide music
with commercial appeal and high production values.
As
Creative Director of Better The Devil Records, Stock will
take full responsibility for the artistic output of the
label with a clear edict: "whether we release one-off
records or develop album projects, our aim is simply to
release music that the public want to hear."
Bob
Patmore, Commercial Director, has sourced substantial
private investment for the label. "The level of funding
is significant - there is no point launching a label with
insufficient fiscal power. We have ensured that, financially,
Better The Devil is able to fully compete in an aggressive
and competitive market place."
Managing
Director of Better The Devil Records is Graham Stokes,
former MD of GSM Records, whose relationship with Stock
dates back to the 1986 Bananarama hit "Venus".
Initial
projects will include "Fast Food Song" by Fast
Food Rockers released on June 2 and a remix of the club
classic "Santa Maria" by Tatjana. Distribution
will be through Nova Distribution via Pinnacle.
